WHEN LIFE IS A RATRACE
Are you a female professional who juggles it all? A career (for instance in a corporate organization, commercial sector, financial sector, health care, educational institution etc), the care of your baby or children, the houshold, a social life etc. Chances are you feel like your life is a ratrace.
Constantly meeting expectations of others, giving away all your energy and way too little time to recharge. Your boundaries are often crossed and even in you have some free time, you're caught up in tasks to tackle some things from your never ending to-do list. You have high standards, saying 'No' is difficult and being a bit of a perfectionist doesn't help crashing the daily busyness.
I get it. You've done all the studies (Bcs, MA or Phd) and you worked hard to be where you are now. You're a female professional who's dedicated, a goal getter and someone who people can build upon. When times get busy, you go the extra mile to get it all done. Being busy is todays well accepted indicator for success and you know all about that.

The Challenge
You're a respected colleague & employee and you are good in what you do in your job. Nonetheless, the workload and responsabilities are challeging sometimes. You might feel exhausted at the end of the week or have had headaches a few too many times.
Then, the combination of your dynamic job with (new) motherhood changes everything in your life. Where there were some gaps in your daily schedule to take some time off and reload, there is not much of that left. You now have the care for you child(ren) and time for yourself is very limited. Did anyone even prepare to for this? I am not talking about prenatal yoga to prepare you for giving birth or something, I am talking about:
How to create a balance that works for you and is both managable and fulfilling? How to redefine yourself and what you find important. How to be productive in a way that boosts your energy level & personal development goals? How to deal with perfectionism and beliefs and patterns that are holding you back from true leadership?
Let me tell you first thing: it is really normal to feel out of balance, overwhelmed and exhausted when you combine motherhood and a demanding career. You are fulfilling hundred roles and you try your very best to manage everything that's on your plate. Keeping hundred balls up in the air and meeting expectations of todays society. Not even to mention your physical and mental recovery after giving birth.
When do don't invest in your personal leadership skills and the tool to stand up & create a balance that works for you, you might end up being totally stressed out or burned out with all its consequences.
The Solution
The good new is: there is a way to create your dream balance, more rest and energy so that you have more time for yourself and the things you find important. It is possible to live your life by your own rules instead of the expectations of others.
Whether you're in the 'orange phase' (first physical or mental symptoms of stress and overwhelm), the 'red phase' (overworked, overstrained) or the 'grey phase' (you're in denial yet that your life now isn't your longterm ticket to happiness), you CAN realize a healthy balance and feeling fully in control in stead or running around ratrace style.

The Only Thing you Need Right Now
There is just one thing that you need to make change happen, even if you don't exactly know what you really want or what your course is going to be. That is: allowing yourself to believe that you are worth that balance, rest and resilience you dream of.
For now I just want you to know that you can make things easier for yourself and it's a smart move to ask for help. Whether it's me or someone else, it's a tough phase of life where you are in and it's a 'win' to seek support. Don't stay in the trap of believing that more rest and that perfect balance will come. When your situation doesn't change, the outcome doesn't change.
Just imagine how your life would look like if you had your dreams work-life balance established, more time for yourself & what you find important so that you can enjoy life at its fullest? How would that feel?
